| In this electron micrograph can be seen the features of a post-infectious (in this case post-streptococcal) glomerulonephritis. The glomerulus is hypercellular because of the presence of neutrophils. A neutrophil with cytoplasmic granules and a lobated nucleus fills the glomerular capillary lumen. Above the basement membrane (BM) can be seen an electron dense "subepithelial hump" from immune deposits. |
