ביואינפורמטיקה הפכה לחלק אינטגרלי ממחקר ביולוגי מודרני. מטרת הקורס היא לחשוף את התלמידים לכלים ביואינפורמטיים עכשוויים. ילמדו כלים בנושאים כדוגמת חיפוש הומולוגים רחוקים, עימוד רצפים, ניתוחים אבולוציוניים, ניתוח גנומים ועוד. Bioinformatics became an integral part of many modern biological studies. The goal of the course is to familiarize the students with currently available bioinformatics tools. Specific topics that will be covered include searching for homologous sequences (e.g., Blast), multiple sequence analysis, phylogeny, and genomic browsers (to name a few). Grade is 80% final home assignment and 20% - home-work assignment during class.
