| Chinese and enrich their understanding of its cultural elements and subtleties. It is carried out in various forms in a friendly and flexible manner:
In the first semester, students are given material which is grouped according to themes/topics, in order to increase their confidence in dealing with different situations in reality. They are asked to engage in dialogues in class and read accurately the key sentences and words. In addition, they also learn a short piece of passage on the current affaires in China and Israel as well, and exchange opinions on the basis of their reading. In so doing, they are expected to familiarise themselves with the expressions and phrases needed in such conversations. In the second semester, a dramatic piece of modern Chinese literature is employed, for the sake of perfecting their awareness of articulation and intonation and combining their practical usage of the language and appreciation of the literature and culture. | |
