The Israel Society for Military History, in association with Tel Aviv

University, was created to advance study in the areas of Jewish, Israeli,

regional and general military history.

The Society advances military history, by

• facilitating research and publication
• organizing conferences and seminars on the field
• maintaining the Aluf Asaf Simhoni Library on Military History
• organizing tours of battle sites and museums in Israel and abroad
• encouraging the study of military history in universities, colleges and high schools, and within the defence community
• maintaining links with the International Society for Military History, and other international scholarly organizations.
