If you drink a lot of coffee.

The software that was bundled with that machine included a number of enjoyable educational games and what I guess would be called encyclopedias. Though they're quite outdated by now, I can't see why young children wouldn't enjoy using these. I remember quite a few of these titles, and I can attest to the fact that they were very pleasant programs.

But children who have been exposed to more state of the art computers and software might not be able to use these programs at all. The reaction time of a computer such as this is, by today's standards, distressingly slow. Kids might give up on waiting even before the programs load. Back when all I knew was my Mac SE with 4MB RAM I hardly thought twice about waiting (and waiting ... and waiting) for a program to load, or a document to be saved. Today, however, I'd probably become strung out from drinking too many cups of coffee while waiting.
