A full time task.

Siliconvalley.com posted a report on some of the strong arm tactics used to "keep the peace" in the Sims communities. Similar to the plethora of out-of-game activity devoted to furnishing Sim houses, here as well, the boundaries between in-game and out-of-game activity are blurred:
A handful of the SSG's [Sims Shadow Government] 160 members would meet outside the game -- in Yahoo discussion groups or by phone -- to talk about offenses against the "family" and plot revenge.
The article tells us about Kacie Velie,
a 21-year-old assistant manager of a residential facility for the mentally retarded in Poughkeepsie, N.Y., is by night one of the SSG's capos. She said the drama became so intense she sometimes receives calls at work about developments.
In short, bringing law and order to a virtual community demands real work.
