I couldn't make it out either. I kept looking for some sort of catchy phrase that I was missing. I tried reading it backwards. But I just couldn't break the code. It's the sort of site, however, that no only maintains a FAQ with all sorts of information, but also expects someone visiting the site to actually use it. So I guess that it wasn't exactly a question of luck that way down toward the very end of the FAQ I found the question: Where does Kuro5hin.org get its name?, and upon clicking on it, even got an answer. I suppose that I also shouldn't be surprised that in some roundabout way the 5 in the name derives from a character in the book Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson. That book comes highly recommended, though not by me. I've had it sitting on my night table for over two years, during which time I've still been unable to get beyond the first chapter.
