Now just where did I leave that book? As soon as the thought of quoting that particular passage came to mind, I was on my feet, walking over to the bookshelf in the bedroom where for many years it's been on the shelf. But it wasn't there. And I couldn't think of where it might be instead. We don't lack for bookshelves in our home, but a thorough glance at (almost) all of them left me still wondering where it might be. Only after retracing quite a few steps of over a year ago was I able to reconstruct when I would have moved the book, and to where.
