The most efficient method.

What with the ever advancing march of technology, it seems that during the three years between our North American vacations I succeeded in forgetting that back then experience had taught me that the best way of saving my thoughts was to commit them to paper. I suppose that I can forgive myself for this (though I didn't purchase a Palm Pilot, or anything similar in the interm and thus had no reason to get adjusted to any new technologies), but I shouldn't be quite as forgiving for not rereading the relevant column before getting on a plane. Had I done so, I would have quite readily noted that back then as well, even though I found both advantages and disadvantages to that most traditional of technologies, taking notes by hand was still my method of preference.
