Just where will it get you?

The jury is still out on this one. Though traditional folk wisdom tells us that it's nowhere, modern psychology seems to think that surface impressions can be very important, and will get you everywhere. The web seems to lean in that direction as well. As of this writing, everywhere has a very substantial lead:

1640 Google hits for "Flattery will get you nowhere"
3390 Google hits for "Flattery will get you everywhere"

And of course now I've added my own vote to that ever-developing statistic.
