I've already reported about my short encounter with Rob and Linda. Our contact shouldn't really be considered chance since I had been running AltaVista searchs for some very distinct information, and getting to their site was the result of a successful search, not of luck. It was, however, the sort of contact that might occur on a bus - we met, we found we had something in common, we continued to talk until one of our stops came up, and then we didn't meet again. While writing this I've checked, and their web site, unchanged since 1999 as far as I can tell, is still there. I really should send them a new e-mail message.
