And almost not even me.
I admit that I wasn't overly enchanted by this issue either, though I think that
what attracted my attention more than anything else was precisely the fact that
it seemed to burn out well before it even caught fire. Frankly, as I review the
entirety of this column I find myself even a bit surprised that it actually fills
up an entire column - whatever that is. My associations to the topic seemed to
grow on me, and at some point I realized that in this particular case the topic
itself played second fiddle to the simple fact that it offered me a jumping board
from which to tangent off into numerous other items that interest me. Of course
that's not necessarily different from other columns, but perhaps in them I still
maintain a certain semblance of attachment to the main topic.
