A foolish consistency?

Wait a second. What's so desirable about consistency? Why should we expect people to keep to a certain sort of mailing? Why shouldn't they mix and match, say one thing today, and something totally different tomorrow? Part of the fun of receiving mailings of this sort may be that we never know what to expect, that there's always an element of surprise. Maybe the opportunity of living with contradictions is one of the benefits of cyberspace?
