It's a commons thing.

Being a staunch believer in giving as well as taking, I've added a bit of my own collection to the digital pool. (In this case, it's dead jazz musicians and I have great doubts as to whether anyone is losing royalties because of this practice on my part, but I admit that that's not my main concern.) When I've added these I've done so in a highly organized manner. I've added whole albums, rather clearly identified as such. It's not that difficult to do - easy to use digitizing tools are readily available. Once I've digitized an album it's easy to put all the cuts in a separate folder, and to identify each cut in such a way that I not only name the cut, but also the name of the album and even its order in that album. But if doing that is so simple, why is it that other people don't seem to organize their collections in the same manner? Why is it that instead of finding whole albums I instead find only bits and pieces of them, and more often than not have to guess whether a particular cut belongs to a certain album?
