Perhaps the most obvious question at this point would be "what's the point in having any of those baseball cards at all?". To a middle-aged collector they might have value - monetary value - but to, let's say, the mother of a young collector they're probably little more than part of the mess of his bedroom. And when that young collector grows up he'll probably ask himself why it is that he hasn't thrown those cards out. This particular column isn't interested in what people collect, only in the desire for completeness in those collections, and in the way digital media influence our collecting habits.
