Just click on a button.

I perform numerous tasks that demand some basic knowledge of HTML. Sometimes I use a graphic editor that permits me to create a link simply by choosing the desired text, clicking on a button, and typing or pasting the desired URL into the text box that appears. My favorite tool is a simple text editor that also automates this process in much the same way. And sometimes I simply type into the Notepad: typing <a href="the URL"> before the text, and </a> after it really doesn't demand much technical skill. Often, even when I'm using a souped up graphic HTML editor, I find myself typing the link instead of clicking to create it.

BTW, I only recently learned that href means hypertext reference, though of course not knowing this never bother me, or kept me from creating links.
