Letting the cat out of the bag.


Just why is it that a real course has to be comprised of tests and verification of student activity? Were collections of reading materials on the web unreal courses before these technological wonders were added? E-mail and forums are wonderful tools which can be used creatively to establish and maintain contact between teacher and student (and let's not forget student and student). Additional technological innovations aren't necessarily undesirable, but they're certainly don't make or break a course.
