So you remember pretty accurately that you're talking about a quote from The Communist Manifest. Years have gone by since you last read it, and you aren't fully sure. The words that stick in your mind are "vanishes into air", but when you try and find references to that phrase on the web these are surprisingly few. Somthing is amiss. Luckily, at least a handful of pages have a translation that uses vanishes instead of melts, giving you enough of a lead to convince you that you're on the right track. From there it demands only a bit of trial and error until you find the standard translation, and more than enough references to know that other people like quoting it as well.
