Milking it for all it's worth.

I admit that these columns have, of late, been rather narrowly focused. Even though a review of the titles suggests that I've dealt with a rather wide range of subjects, I get the feeling that for the past year the main topic has been, in the words of the title of the March, 2000 column, my feeling of becoming an anachronism as it becomes more and more apparent that the ways in which people use the internet have become farther and farther removed from what I have traditionally seen as the essense of the web. On the one hand that gives me lots of material for future columns, since it's rather predictable that I'm going to remain in the minority. On the other, it presents a bit of a challenge: Don't you have anything else to complain about?
