I seem to recall that it didn't seem right. If the information is brought straight to my screen, why should I print it out in order to read it? Quite quickly, however, what seemed or didn't seem right was quickly replaced by a rather basic functionality. To put it simply, reading from the screen just doesn't do the trick. Both then and now it seems to be a pretty basic law of internet use: if you want to read something longer than a few hundred words, send it to the printer, hold it in your hands, and read the way we've read since paper became commonplace.
