At the root of all order?

Is randomality truly an eternal basic? Is the clock that ticks haphazardly and unpredictably (with thanks to Sissy and Tom) truly the most accurate (or at least the mort reliable)? This gut feeling of randomness shows up again and again in computer humor. But it's also a basic of computer science. A couple of sites fulfill a very real need for many scientists, even if they seem strange (perhaps even threatening?) to the layperson. These sites, Hotbits and Random.org generate what they claim are truly random numbers.
