You mean you used to flip pages with your hands?

I used to joke that at least one good reason for me to visit a dentist was to read the magazines while in the waiting room. That was a way for me to get to review numerous popular magazines that otherwise wouldn't have found their way into my hands. Over the years I've subscribed to many magazines of many different sorts, but today the list is almost negligible. There are various reasons for that, but reading on/via the web is certainly among the central of those. I can hardly remember, for instance, when the last time that I actually held a copy of Wired magazine in my hands was. Then again, I can't seem to remember when I last read the online version either.

Be that as it may, I still enjoy holding a magazine in my hands and leafing through it. And though on the web I quickly learned to disregard the banner ads that vie for my attention, I actually enjoy reading ads in print magazines. But perhaps I shouldn't admit to that since it seems to set the stage for a pay-to-read web model which I hope never comes about.
