It's axiomatic in modern life.


The Red Queen is well over a century old, and perhaps judging by the fact that her comments on how to stay in one place seem to have found definitive proof in our own times, perhaps she was really moving forward: living in our world, though visible in hers. One thing is sure: she definitely knew what she was talking about. For me, the piles of ever accumulating papers which I can't seem to throw out, yet have beyond a negligible chance of ever actually getting around to, are a compelling proof of her claim.
