And perhaps that's part of the beauty of it all. After all, I've frequently
argued in these columns that it's the individuality of personal experience
as reflected in web sites that gives the web its special quality. I've
expressed my discomfort with the unrelenting march toward uniformity in
the web experience. I don't have to reach very far for a metaphor on that
account.
