They even had telephones way back then.
Today, anyone who hears of the department of Computers and Communication in Eduction probably immediately thinks that an integral part of the studies in the department is the internet and its educational uses. And of course that anyone would be right. But it wasn't always that way. The department, and its name, existed well before the internet became a household term, and even only six years ago, though there was a course that dealt with hypertext, there wasn't a single course offered that dealt with what was then still the somewhat novel phenomenon of the internet. Back then Communication referred to media like radio and television, and perhaps even the use of video in an educational framework. Things have changed.
