Not by plan but by habit.

Until now, at least, I've never actually thought seriously about stopping the writing of these columns (though I suppose that inevitably they'll come to an end), and while busy with the non-column section of the Boidem over the past few months I even continued to make notes for new columns. But it seems that there's nothing quite as dangerous as getting rusty. Catching up becomes more and more difficult the farther you fall behind, and not only because you've got farther to go to catch up. The main problem is that you get out of practice, you forget how to allot your time, you start defining your priorities differently. So even with rather extensive notes for numerous columns, I have to relearn the process of converting those notes into an actual column, I have to remind myself that this is a task that has to be attended.
