I admit it, I've always harbored a special sense of endearment toward AltaVista. You might call it an attachment. After all, even when I've clearly been shown that other tools seem to get the job of finding something done at least as well, and sometimes even better, I find myself sticking to that old flame of mine. I know it's ins and outs, it's idiosyncrasies, I know what to expect of it. And since I'm convinced that learning to use a tool well demands time, and I'm not about to devote much of my time to learning a new tool unless I have to, I guess we'll stick together.
