Information is information, right? And Yahoo! links us to that information, wherever it's to be found, right? Wrong.

It turns out that Yahoo! doesn't list sites that are part of the About.com site. About.com, formerly The Mining Company, is not only another index of information available from the web, but also a good source of much of that information, organized by "expert guides" to various topics. If Yahoo! were to faithfully fulfill its stated objective, it would of course list About.com's sites in its catalog. But alas, that would be aiding and abetting the competition, and when you're only in it for the money, doing so is out of the question.
