... the web page or the newspaper article

As I've admitted, I first read about this topic from a newspaper clipping. An AltaVista search, however, brings up at least two more articles on the same topic. But they're not only on the same topic. They're almost identical. The USA Today web site article credits the Associated Press, and the article that appears on the web site of a San Diego television station notes that "AP contributed to this report" .On the other hand, the Los Angeles Times article (the clipping), carries the by-line of a "Times Staff Writer". Does it matter? Probably not. Information is information, and most of us are only processing it, repackaging it and passing it on anyway. The web only makes the entire process that much easier.
