To Susan Taylor and family:

I extend to you my most heartfelt sympathy at the death of your beautiful daughter, Nicole. I am a mother of three children, two of whom are daughters who play the horn. One of these horn players is 16 and just recently got her driver's license....and not a day goes by that I don't worry about her as she takes those car keys and goes out the door. None of us knows what is in store for us in life but we can thank God that we have been blessed to have these children and for the years that our lives are richer because of them. You can be proud that you encouraged her in her dream and love for music, driving her to endless music lessons, probably attending many less than wonderful elementary band concerts, listening to those painful first years of practice...none of that was time wasted or will be forgotten. My heart goes out to you in your pain and I will pray for you and your family as you face a very difficult time dealing with your loss. This is a parents worst nightmare, but one that any one of us could face any day.
My daughter is now on a mission trip in a remote village in Canada teaching vacation bible school to Indian children. Friends asked me if I wasn't afraid to let her go on such an adventure. Of course I worry about her and pray for her safety but I wouldn't have kept her at home because I was afraid. We have to let them go when opportunities come up.....it sounds to me like you were a parent who encouraged your daughter to pursue her dreams.
May God be close by your side as you all face the difficult days ahead, Susan Peeples
