Instead of a link.

It's my guess that most readers would assume that the text that links to this page was going to link to Postman's Foreword. It makes sense. But there are two stories on the way, less detours than observation points with what might be called interesting scenery on the way.

Postman's foreword shows up a number of times on the web. One of these is as a graphic prepared by Stuart McMillen. That graphic can still be found on the web, sometimes attributed, sometimes not. McMillen removed the graphic from his web site, and on his blog he explains why he did this. It's a very interesting story, and well worth the read.

The foreword also appears on a page which might seem like a page worth linking to, but when we click over to that site's main page (not linked to here for reasons that should be obvious) we learn that the site is:
opposed to Fascism, Capitalism, Zionism, the Anglo-Zionist Empire, the Surveillance State and all who secretly work to cause wars for their own advantage and profit.
To my dismay that site probably doesn't "need" my links to it. And it certainly won't get them.

And now we can link to the Foreword - on a page devoid of conspiracy theories and without the graphics that Postman's estate hasn't approved.
