Well, perhaps passive subscribers.

At least a handful of people have, one way or another, heard about the Boidem and requested to be put on its mailing list. It's happened. And in the past I've added a few people for a couple of months of update announcements, perhaps hoping that they'll request to remain on the list. When they (invariably) didn't, I removed them. But other than those cases, almost all my "subscribers" are people I've known over the years, either socially or professionally, who long ago got put on a list and for one reason or another haven't asked to be removed. Calling them subscribers is probably an exaggeration, but if they don't mind, I don't.
