Purposefully hidden.

Over the years Google has hidden some very enjoyable Easter Eggs, many of them in the results of a search. I think the best known of these is the result of a Google search on "do a barrel roll", but there are numerous others. Keeping things simple seems to me to be what describes the best of these, a search on askew, for instance. A good part of the fun with these is the surprise of stumbling onto them, though it's my guess that very few people actually stumble. Instead, these pages get passed around by word of mouth (or email), most probably after someone has read about them. In that sense maybe the Boidem has an advantage. The chances of someone stumbling onto the Boidem are almost as great as someone getting a heads-up about it from someone else.
