This month's date tie-in goes beyond the traditional attempt to link the column's posting date to some more or less significant event. It holds, or at least in the way in which I originally perceived this column, held, a central role. The column is being posted on Parashat Pinchas not only because that parasha more or less coincides with the start of the Boidem, but also because that parasha raises issues that without too much squinting seem to me to be pertinent to the issues of adulthood, to growing up, to accepting adult responsibility.
