What do we mean by "success"?

We tend to associate doing something successfully with the relatively swift completion of a task. But in this particular case quickly finding what we're looking for closes the door on the adventure, and the adventure itself is the task, or at least the goal of the task. In other words, in order for us to "successfully" execute an extended clicking adventure it's in our interest to fail. It may be counter-intuitive, but actually it makes sense.
