From my very first cellphone I gave considerable thought to what my ringtone should be. I seriously thought about recording my daughter exclaiming "Daddy, your phone is bothering everybody", but still haven't gotten around to preparing such a recording. I did learn, however, that preparing a ringtone was quite easy, and for many years now I "bother" people when I receive a call with the opening bars of John Coltrane's Alabama from the 1963 Live at Birdland album. I figure that if I'm going to be bothering people, I can at least do it with something culturally enriching.
