Readers from my generation may notice that Borthwick's contractions don't have apostrophes in them. I suppose that today this is acceptable usage, and frankly it doesn't bother me, though the time it may save him in writing gets spent by me as I meet those non-apostrophed words and scratch my head wondering why they look a bit strange. With staying abreast of information in the stream as difficult as it is, perhaps saving time on those apostrophes may make it slightly easier to keep up.
