Feeling quite pleased with myself that I'd apparently reached what seemed to me the final version of this column, with only a bit of copyreading and cleaning up before telling myself that this was ready for uploading, I noticed a text file that I'd used for notes. Opening it I found one item that a few days earlier I'd remembered, and wondered why I didn't have a note for it. I also found a couple of other notes on pages that, because parts of this column developed in a slightly different direction than originally intended, no longer had to be included.

But there were also a few items that definitely did belong, and I found myself once again reviewing the entirety of this column, trying to figure out where the most logical place for me to work them in was. If none of my eight readers can guess what those particular items were, I guess I succeeded in more or less seamlessly including them.
