Back-to-back columns from April, 2008 and May, 2008, opened with the same paragraph, and then proceeded to make contradictory claims about the nature of "personal" on the web. And of course were someone to have asked me which of those columns accurately reflected my take on the issue, I'd have whole heartedly responded "both". With this month's column, however, I'm simply not sure if I intended to expand or to contradict - and perhaps the reason it wasn't completed a year ago was that at some point I realized that I didn't know where I wanted to take this.
