I didn't really think that Larry was going to let this rather flippant aside stand on its own without coming to the defense of doctors who understandably seek to educate because they see wellness as a goal. He adds:
Much of that education is about how to prevent the problems in the first place! For example, explaining why losing a few pounds might prevent or delay the onset of high blood pressure or diabetes. I'm sure you would prefer to have your disease processes prevented rather than treated. And once the disease has occurred, I'm sure you would want to know what will minimize the severity and how best to use the treatments.
I've got no doubt that he's right.
