The conference session that dealt with using Second Life for medical purposes (reviewed by another participant here) took place on the stage of the real conference hall. One of the projected displays in that conference hall, however, was of a panel taking place in Second Life. Some of the members of that panel attended only virtually. The panelists presented a "live" tour of the virtual hospital that they had set up in Second Life, and members of the audience with Second Life installed on their computers were able to join that tour. The part of the demonstration devoted to disaster planning was presented by an avatar speaker who was accompanied by a YouTube video. Whew!
