Did this momentous event really take place on November 29, 1972? Most probably yes. It most certainly didn't take place on December 32, 2007, as noted on the Wikipedia Pong page when I returned to that page toward the end of the month to do some fact checking:


I can only call it a stroke of luck that my checking of that page took place within what seems to be the three minute interval between someone tampering with the page and someone else correcting it:
