It's no longer a surprise.
Perhaps it's simply a case of the extraordinary becoming the ordinary, of the
sporadic becoming a habit. Assuming, of course, that I'm truly interested in establishing
contact with someone whom I haven't seen in 40 years, meeting him on the web would
have seemed to me, long ago, a surprising chance. Today, however, it may be more
logical to wonder why, with so many of us clicking on so many links every day,
it doesn't happen more often than it does.
