Okay, so now you're in my address book.

It's happened before ... more than once. Someone from long ago finds you, or you find them. You exchange a couple of letters with a mix of excitement and trepidation. Sure, you remember that person, and perhaps you were actually even friends. But you've changed. Neither of you are where you were when you first knew each other. And you're busy. With all of your present activities, who has the time to keep up yet another friendship. So after a flurry of excitement you try not to feel guilty that you're not maintaining this old friendship, reminding yourself that now at least each of you has the other's email address, so that if and when you really want to write, you'll be able to do so.
