Would a hypertext book on a CD count?
My questioners might just consider a hypertextual text that exists on CD as a
legitimate replacement for a book. Particularly if it were released via someplace
like Eastgate that deals with "serious
hypertext". Legitimacy, after all, is basically a function of finding a publisher,
and I could probably convince people that the editors/publishers at Eastgate take
their work seriously and don't simply publish any text that gets sent their way. But
here as well, although Eastgate publishes both fiction and non-fiction, I really
don't fit their mold. I can't write fiction, and my expository writing isn't at all close to the sort of non-fiction they publish.
