Words of grandmotherly wisdom.
Though I doubt that I ever really heard my grandmother utter these words, family
folklore has it that one of her better known phrases was:
It's never too late to cut the cloth.
Bobe
was known as an accomplished seamstress who was particularly adept at making use
of as much of the material at her disposal as was possible, so she delayed the
final cut until she knew that she would get the maximum out of the cloth. This,
by the way, did not make her a woman of the cloth.
