Haven't run out yet.
There are times when I find the end of the month catching up on me, and I still
haven't thought of a good subject for a column. For situations such as that I've
got a list of interesting topics that may not overly excite me, but are still
worthy of an examination in the Boidem, and if I'm truly hard pressed, I can go
through that list and almost definitely find a topic of a column.
This month wasn't like that. This month, even though the column was ultimately
posted well after the intended date, a first draft had been completed before the
previous month's column had even been posted. I knew what I wanted to write about.
Of course as first draft developed into second draft, and as I delved deeper into
the topic, I started asking myself whether I hadn't already written all this previously,
or at least done so closely enough to make this column an example of itself. But
that's the sort of reflexive recursion that I permit myself here.
