Just a thought.
If photographs are today the prime source for the production of memory, are picture
postcards objects of the mass production of collective memory? And while I'm asking,
I've got a few more, only semi-related, questions:
- do people actually send picture postcards, or do they buy them only for
themselves?
- are there still postcards that aren't "picture postcards"? Can we buy
them at a post office? Do people do this?
If anyone has answers, I'd be happy to receive
them.
