Can it really be just me?

As I've noted numerous times in the past, I really don't know to what extent others encounter this "original" lure of the web, nor whether, though they may have once been bitten by it, the attraction wears off with time. More than once I've written that today's web is considerably different than the web I first met over a decade ago - not only in its content, but in how people approach it, in what they expect it to offer them. Though the popularity of a tool such as StumbleUpon perhaps suggests that there are still lots of us out there who still trust the power of the web to surprise, people rarely seem to "waste time" on the web anymore.
