As I composed that sentence in my head, fingers waiting impatiently to convert the words into bits on the screen, I heard myself writing "on paper". Sure, it's only a metaphor, and the intent is the same, but no matter how comfortable I've become over the years with writing to the screen, even with writing in hypertext, writing and paper seem to be so conceptually intertwined that I can hardly even imagine separating them.
